Dr. Richards believed equipment could be developed which would use these interactions to efficiently collect particulate, and, over a twelve-year span, researched dozens of techniques to create the water droplet, particulate and electrical charge combination that would produce the forces necessary to collect very small particulate matter (submicron particulate.)

Twelve years later Dr. Richards had a working pilot equipment system using a unique technology which demonstrated the ability to collect very fine particulate, such as ammonium chloride, as small as 0.1 microns. 

This equipment was demonstrated to numerous industrial companies, and all parties who reviewed the results encouraged Dr. Richards to pursue commercialization.  (NOTE:  Check out Whirl / Wet if you are seeking systems designed for larger particulate.)

Tri-Mer Corporation and Atmospheric Physics Incorporated have signed an exclusive licensing agreement regarding the Cloud Chamber Scrubber ™ technology for purposes of commercializing the technology.
